Asianet Satellite Communications to launch digital cable services!
Asianet satellite communciations (South India’s largest cable, broadband and television network) has announced the launch of it’s digital cable services by Aug 17. The digitalsation of it’s head end was done by Scientific Atlanta and this will enable Asianet to provide a wide range of services like Video-On-Demand, T-commerce etc to it’s customers. The subscribers will have to purchase a digital Settop Box to access digital services.

NXTpay, the latest entrant in the Indian m-payment space!
Close on the heels of “paymate” announcing the launch of it’s SMS payment service by August, TNGicube is also getting ready for launching an SMS payment service in kerala. The service christened “Zipcash” will enable mobile users to pay at select outlets uisng SMS directly from their bank account.
The company behind the service Ifuturz Finserv, a fully owned subsidiaryof TNGicube is planing to launch the service in Thiruvanathapuram city and has already partnered with leading outlets in the city like Ambrosia , De-options and Asianet satellite communications.
Perhaps the biggest strength behind the company is it’s strategic tie-up with Asianet satelliet communciations (South India’s largest cable, broadband and television network) for the joint promotion of the service. Ifuturz is planning to provide free zipcash accounts to 1 million cable house holds of Asianet cable, wherein the subscribers get discounts and special privilages at partner outlets.
Ifuturz will be providing the service using the cross operator shortcode 66777, which has connectivicty across all mobile operators in India as well as through it’s voice portal -6777 /p>

youtube + Flickr + blogspot + orkut + chikka + SMS tagging = tagme.in !
You have youtube for video sharing, flickr for photo sharing, blogspot for blogging, orkut for social networking and chikka for mobile networking, ever thought having all this services under one umbrella ! If it couldn’t be you some one else has thought over it and they are coming out with a new service christened “tagme.in” .
Again if you think tagme.in is just an integerated mix of some popular web2.0 applications, you are again mistaken. tagme.in was conceptualised by a group of youngsters as a service wherein it’s users can create SMS tags, which can be tagged by other mobile users via SMS . The service also users to create voice tags and apart from these service tagme also provides services like video sharing, photosharing, social networking etc…

PayMate To Roll Out SMS Payment With Restaurants !
Paymate is a revolutionary mobile payment solution which offers simplicity, convenience and flexibility for making payments using your mobile phone. Paymate can be used in conjunction with your credit card or debit card account with any of the participating banks and merchants.
The service is expected to be launched in the next one month or so. “We will begin with high-profile restaurants and hip and trendy joints where the customer base is more inclined to take up paying using mobiles,” Ajay Adiseshann it’s CEO.
Paymate received $5 million in venture funding from two Silicon Vallye-based Venture Capital firms: Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers and Sherpalo Ventures. The company is founded by Ajay Adiseshann and Probir Roy. Ajay belongs to the family that owns the Real Estate company Parsn Group in Madras/Chennai.
